Football Game Preview: Tampa Bay Tech Titans vs. East Bay Indians

The Tampa Bay Tech Titans are taking a road trip to take on the East Bay Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Tampa Bay Tech 8.5, East Bay 5.7) so any points scored will be well earned.

Tampa Bay Tech is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top against Parrish Community by a score of 18-6.

Meanwhile, East Bay had already won eight in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points) and they went ahead and made it nine on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Tritons a 13-0 shutout. Given the Indians' advantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 36th, while the Tritons are ranked 236th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The critical scores for East Bay came from Victoria Whitfield and Jayla Jackson.

East Bay didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Jazalyn Baluja and Jackson. Baluja has been hot recently, having also posted at least one defended passe the last four times she's played.

East Bay's victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-3. The home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 3.0 points on average over those games. As for Tampa Bay Tech, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Tampa Bay Tech came up short against East Bay in their previous meeting last Thursday, falling 14-10. Can the Titans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
