Basketball Game Preview: East Lee County Jaguars vs. Ida Baker Bulldogs

The East Lee County Jaguars will face off against the Ida Baker Bulldogs on Monday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.

Last Tuesday, East Lee County came up short against Immokalee and fell 66-58.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Gage Chin, who posted 12 points in addition to eight steals and seven boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Joel Trujillo, who went 5 of 11 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.

Even though they lost, East Lee County smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in 12 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Ida Baker also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Evangelical Christian by a score of 60-52.

East Lee County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-16. As for Ida Baker, their loss dropped their record down to 6-18.

East Lee County came up short against Ida Baker in their previous matchup back in January, falling 55-50. Can East Lee County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
