Volleyball Recap: Manchester Starts Season with Victory at Home

Manchester took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Huntington North Vikings. The Squires were shut out 2-0 the last time they took on the Vikings, so the Squires were just returning the favor.

While Manchester won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-15, 25-20.

Leading Manchester to victory were Myla Crozier and Marysa Stroud. Crozier had 15 digs and five assists, while Stroud had eight digs and two aces. Those two aces gave Stroud a new career-high.

Huntington North's loss was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Coming up, Manchester will square off against Peru at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Squires' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Huntington North, they will challenge Bluffton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
