Basketball Recap: Omaha Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Omaha Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. The match between them and the Boys Town Cowboys didn't end well, with the Omaha Christian Academy Eagles falling 36-19. If the Eagles were looking for revenge after losing 46-30 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Despite the defeat, Omaha Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Emmy Burggaaf posted five points and ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for Burggaaf.

Omaha Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Boys Town, they moved to 2-5 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Omaha Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Walthill at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025. Boys Town will also get a bit of a break before their next contest: they'll face off against Schuyler at 6:00 p.m. on January 9, 2025.
