Basketball Recap: Danbury Comes Up Short

Danbury was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were dealt a 93-18 defeat at the hands of the Evadale Rebels. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 85-23 back in January.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Evadale to victory, but perhaps none more so than Warren Brewer, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 boards. What's more, Brewer also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Talon Bennett, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds.

Danbury's loss dropped their record down to 18-16. As for Evadale, the win (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 27-7.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Danbury will face off against Sabine Pass at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Evadale, they will challenge West Hardin at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
