Volleyball Recap: North Branch Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Mercy

North Branch faced Mercy in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Saturday. The Broncos took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Marlins. The Broncos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Marlins apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.

Aubree Deshetsky paced North Branch's offense, picking up eight kills. Deshetsky got some help from Kylie Doherty and her 19 assists. Allysse Deshetsky and Addison Franklin kept things locked in from the service line: the pair finished with two aces apiece.

North Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 21-4. As for Mercy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-2 record this season.

North Branch has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Utica Eisenhower on the 27th. Mercy has also already played their next match (against Brighton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
