Basketball Recap: Mcfarland Falls Short of Sierra Pacific in the Playoffs

McFarland and Sierra Pacific squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but McFarland had to settle for second. They took a hard 81-63 fall against the Sierra Pacific Golden Bears. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Golden Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 84-69 back in December of 2024.

Sierra Pacific's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Colin Dodd led the charge by dropping a double-double with 22 points and 18 boards. The dominant performance gave Dodd a new career-high in rebounds. Kazden Berna was another key player, dropping a double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

McFarland's loss dropped their record down to 23-6. As for Sierra Pacific, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-14.

McFarland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Sierra Pacific, they will face off against Ridgeview at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sierra Pacific has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 237 points over their last three contests.
