Baseball Recap: Presbyterian Christian Beats St. Joseph Catholic for Their Third Straight Victory

Presbyterian Christian entered their tilt with St. Joseph Catholic on Friday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Bruins a 10-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 5-1 victory on Friday.

Brennon Thoms was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.

In other pitching news, Cash James looked comfortable as he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in ten consecutive appearances.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Jet Henderson, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Reed Bridges was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Presbyterian Christian's victory bumped their record up to 15-10. As for St. Joseph Catholic, they are on an 11-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-14.
