Basketball Game Preview: Shiner Comanches vs. Columbus Cardinals

The Shiner Comanches just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Columbus Cardinals at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Shiner picked up another tournament win on Friday. They ended the year with a bang, routing Cedar Creek 55-33. The Comanches have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Columbus, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They came out on top against Tidehaven by a score of 55-46 last Tuesday.

Shiner's victory bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Columbus, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.

Shiner ended up a good deal behind Columbus when the teams last played back in December of 2022, losing 52-37. Thankfully for Shiner, Karlee Mathis (who posted 14 points in addition to eight boards and six assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
