Baseball Recap: Elmwood's Luck Changes for the Better on Tuesday

Elmwood's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lakota Raiders by a score of 7-4. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Royals as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Landon Snow made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zackery Gross, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Elmwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakota only posted a batting average of .276.

Elmwood's record is now 15-6. As for Lakota, they moved to 10-9 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Elmwood has already played their next matchup, an 11-1 loss against Findlay on the 14th. Hopefully Lakota paid attention to the Royals' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Royals at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
