Baseball Recap: Shiner Extends Home Winning Streak to Ten

There's no place like home for Shiner, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Flatonia Bulldogs a 1-0 shutout on Saturday. The Comanches haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive win against them.

Shiner's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Landyn Pohler, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Shiner's win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Flatonia, they moved to 7-4-1 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shiner will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Ganado at 7:00 p.m. on the 15th. As for Flatonia, they will square off against Fayetteville at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
