Volleyball Recap: Wausa Vikings vs. Wynot Blue Devils

Wausa suffered their biggest loss since October 7th on Thursday. They came up short against the Wynot Blue Devils, falling 3-0. If the Vikings were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Blue Devils when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-19, 25-16.

Avery Stevens paced Wausa's offense, picking up five kills. Stevens got some help from Kenley Anderson and her 14 assists. Finally, Reagan Gillilan kept Wausa's defense grounded, leading the team with two blocks.

Leading Wynot to victory were Kenna Oligmueller and Haley Wieseler. Oligmueller had 13 kills, 12 digs, and two aces, while Wieseler had five digs and two aces. That's the most aces Wieseler has posted over her last four matches. Another player making a difference was Jaylin Geisen, who had six digs and four aces.

This is the second loss in a row for Wausa and nudges their season record down to 9-15. As for Wynot, they pushed their record up to 22-4 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Wausa will take on Walthill in a tournament on Saturday. Wynot does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
