Tolono Unity had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Tri-Valley Vikings 9-3 on Friday. The Rockets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 contests by six runs or more this season.
Lindy Bates was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off five hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last eight matches. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Grace Bickers was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI. Kenley Harris was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
Tolono Unity hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Tri-Valley struck out eight times.
Tolono Unity is on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 31-4 record this season. As for Tri-Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 21-8-1 record this season.
