Soccer Game Preview: Northeast vs. Henry County

The Northeast Eagles will head out to challenge the Henry County Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Northeast has given up an average of 4.6 goals per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Henry County will have to contend with a Northeast team hungry for a win, something the squad hasn't seen since September 11. Northeast lost 9-0 to Kirkwood on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Henry County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 2.5 goals) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Cougars a 2-0 shutout. Two seems to be a good number for Henry County as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of goals in their previous game.

Northeast's loss dropped their record down to 3-6-3. As for Henry County, their win bumped their record up to 9-2-3.

Northeast suffered a grim 6-2 defeat to Henry County in their previous matchup back in August of 2021. That match was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Eagles were down 4-1.
