Recap: Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats vs. Evansville North Huskies
The Evansville Mater Dei Wildcats lost against the Evansville North Huskies back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Evansville Mater Dei took a hard 58-42 fall against Evansville North. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Evansville Mater Dei in their matchups with Evansville North: they've now lost three in a row.
Evansville North got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Libby Blythe out in front who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 1 assists. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Vanessa Nankwenya, who scored 12 points along with eight assists and three steals.
Evansville Mater Dei's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Evansville North, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evansville Mater Dei will play host again and welcome Princeton, where tip off is scheduled for 9:00 a.m. on Friday. Princeton has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 401 points over their last six matchups. Evansville North will be home for the holidays to greet Tecumseh at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
