Volleyball Recap: Grantsburg Victorious

After losing to Webster the last time they met, Grantsburg decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Pirates came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-1 on Tuesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Pirates.

Grantsburg had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-23, 26-24, 25-19.

Ruby Rengo paced Grantsburg's offense, picking up 18 kills. Rengo got some help from Megan Harmon and her 20 assists. Rengo also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Eden Burkman, each putting up two.

Grantsburg's victory bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Webster, their defeat ended a 12-match streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 28-2.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Grantsburg will challenge rival Siren at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Webster is set to square off against their familiar foe Frederic at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
