Softball Recap: Bangor Takes Down Ranked Brewer

Bangor faced Brewer in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over the Witches. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted against the Witches since June 2, 2021.

Emma Tripp spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Abby Folsom, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabby Goding, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Bangor's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Brewer, they moved to 9-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

As of now, neither Bangor nor the Witches have any future games scheduled.
