Basketball Game Preview: Campolindo Cougars vs. Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles

Two dominant guards in Gavin Rendle and Elijah Perryman are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Campolindo Cougars will welcome the Clayton Valley Charter Ugly Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Campolindo is returning to their home court after beating Acalanes on theirs, despite the fact Acalanes has dominated at home this season. Campolindo put the hurt on Acalanes with a sharp 57-37 victory on Friday.

Meanwhile, the third road game was the charm for Clayton Valley Charter, as they earned their first road win of the season. They breezed by Berean Christian to the tune of 68-31 on Wednesday. That looming 68-31 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Ugly Eagles yet this season.

Campolindo has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Clayton Valley Charter, their win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 13-8.

Campolindo couldn't quite finish off Clayton Valley Charter when the teams last played back in February of 2024 and fell 57-54. Thankfully for Campolindo, James Moore (who went 8 of 17 on his way to 21 points along with eight boards and three steals) won't be suiting up this time.
