Basketball Game Preview: First Baptist School Hurricanes vs. Northwood Academy Chargers

First Baptist School is on a three-game streak of home losses, Northwood Academy an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season, but someone's luck will change on Friday. The First Baptist School Hurricanes will host the Northwood Academy Chargers at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

First Baptist School came up short against Pinewood Prep on Wednesday, falling 69-43. While losing is never fun, the Hurricanes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 213th, while the Panthers are ranked 55th).

Meanwhile, Northwood Academy was beaten by Porter-Gaud 74-33 on Tuesday.

Northwood Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for First Baptist School, their loss dropped their record down to 1-10.

First Baptist School took their win against Northwood Academy in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a conclusive 69-47. Will First Baptist School repeat their success, or does Northwood Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
