Basketball Game Preview: Iroquois Raiders vs. Doss Dragons

Iroquois hasn't had much luck against Doss recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Iroquois Raiders will head out to challenge the Doss Dragons at 7:30 p.m. Iroquois will be strutting in after a victory while Doss will be coming in after a loss.

Iroquois took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Brown as Iroquois made off with a 55-34 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their 29-point performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Doss was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They were dealt a 92-33 loss at the hands of Butler. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while the Bears are ranked 22nd).

Iroquois has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.4 points per game. As for Doss, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-15.

Iroquois came up short against Doss when the teams last played back in February of 2024, falling 63-53. Can Iroquois avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
