Softball Game Preview: The Dalles Riverhawks vs. Crook County Cowboys

For the second straight game, The Dalles will face off against Crook County. The Riverhawks will be playing in front of their home fans against the Cowboys at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Dalles is looking for their season's first victory.

The Dalles is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They took a 9-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of Crook County on Monday.

For Crook County's part, Chloe McKenzie and Azsmita Pennington did most of the damage at the plate: McKenzie scored two runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances, while Pennington scored three runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Pennington also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Kya Mozingo was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

The win made it two in a row for Crook County and bumps their season record up to 6-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for The Dalles, their loss dropped their record down to 0-7.
