Football Game Preview: Verrado Vipers vs. Tolleson Wolverines + How To Watch

Two dominant signal callers in Malachi Wilt and Youngmin Lee are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Verrado Vipers will head out on the road to take on the Tolleson Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.

Verrado is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight games on Friday. They had to suffer through a 49-13 loss at the hands of Canyon View. The Vipers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-13.

Verrado's loss came about despite a quality game from Travis Kamp, who picked up 89 receiving yards and one score. The Vipers also got help from Carter Bliss, who showed off his sure hands for 115 receiving yards.

While Verrado came up short, they sure didn't make it easy for Canyon View: they limited their QB to completion percentage of just 50%. That dominant aerial defense primarily came from two players: Anthony Morales and Blake Bliss, who each logged two passes deflected. Verrado wasn't nearly as limited: they posted one of 63.6%.

Meanwhile, Tolleson suffered their biggest defeat since November 1, 2024 on Friday. They took a blow against Desert Edge, falling 58-7. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 74th, while the Scorpions are ranked tenth).

The loss was their first on the road , dropping their record down to 6-2. As for Verrado, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

We should be in store for an exciting game as Verrado and Tolleson have no problem gaining yardage. The Vipers have been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 358.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Tolleson struggles in that department as they've been averaging 385 total yards.
