Baseball Recap: Everett Comes Up Short

Everett had lost nine straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Friday they dropped down to 0-5 to make it ten. They came up short against the Eastside Catholic Crusaders, falling 11-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Seagulls of the 10-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Eastside Catholic's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-2. They not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 3, 2025 (when they won 14-1).

For Eastside Catholic's part, Tristan Weigum looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. What's more, Weigum posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Tyler Long, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2025. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Bode, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Everett will welcome Marysville Getchell at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Seagulls' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Eastside Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Puyallup at 12:00 p.m.
