Preview: Allegany Campers vs. Fort Hill Sentinels
Allegany is on a five-game streak of home wins, while Fort Hill is on a nine-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Allegany Campers will take on the Fort Hill Sentinels at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Last Friday, Allegany was fully in charge, breezing past Northern 57-21 on the road. Given Allegany's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland football rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Northern is ranked 92nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Allegany had a senior duo take command as Isaiah Fields rushed for 161 yards and three touchdowns on only eight carries and Brett Patterson rushed for 137 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. Fields was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 65 yards. Kane Williams was another key contributor, rushing for 65 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Fort Hill took their contest at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 49-21 win over New Oxford. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Fort Hill had established a 21 point advantage.
It was another big night for Jabril Daniels, who rushed for 223 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry. Daniels is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Deshaun Brown, who rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Allegany to 6-2 and Fort Hill to 8-0.
Keep an eye on the end zone in Saturday's game as the two teams haven't had much trouble getting there this season. Allegany commands a daunting offense this season, having averaged 5.4 touchdowns per game. However, it's not like Fort Hill struggles in that department as they've been averaging 4.7 per game. With these two high-octane teams facing off on Saturday, fans should be in for an exciting offensive matchup.
Allegany was taken down by Fort Hill 48-0 in their previous matchup back in November of 2022. Will Allegany have more luck at home instead of on the road?
