Hononegah typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Carmel proved too difficult a challenge. They pulled ahead with a 40-39 photo finish over the Indians. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Corsairs have posted since December 23, 2024.

Carmel can attribute much of their success to Maliyah Mays, who posted 11 points and three steals. That's the most points Mays has posted since back in January. The team also got some help courtesy of Liv Johnson, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds.
Carmel is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 24-9 record this season. As for Hononegah, they moved to 26-8 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
