Basketball Recap: Military Magnet Academy Sets Scoring Season-High Against North Charleston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Military Magnet Academy). They blew past the North Charleston Cougars 102-9 on Tuesday. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

Military Magnet Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Dream Watson, who dropped a triple-double on 11 points, ten assists, and ten steals. Watson has been hot for a while, having posted four or more steals the last nine times she's played. Another player making a difference was Lauren Willis, who went 8 of 13 en route to 17 points along with six rebounds and six steals.

Watson wasn't the only one working in the assists department: Military Magnet Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 31 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Military Magnet Academy pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for North Charleston, they are on a 21-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Military Magnet Academy will host Bethune-Bowman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for North Charleston, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orangeburg-Wilkinson at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
