Recap: Randolph Ro-Hawks vs. Nixon-Smiley Mustangs

The Randolph Ro-Hawks entered their tilt with the Nixon-Smiley Mustangs with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Randolph secured a 44-39 W over Nixon-Smiley on Tuesday. That's two games straight that Randolph has won by exactly five points.

Nixon-Smiley lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Kendall Amaya, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Amaya is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Janaelyn White, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Randolph has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 14-13 record this season. As for Nixon-Smiley, their loss was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 6-20.

Randolph will square off against Great Hearts Northern Oaks at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Great Hearts Northern Oaks comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 22 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Nixon-Smiley, they will be playing at home against Cole at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cole presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Nixon-Smiley in Texas (Cole is ranked 365th, while Nixon-Smiley is ranked 1219th).
