Carter Jaeger Tops All Others This Week
Starting off the list is Sterling's Carter Jaeger, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Jaeger made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), good enough to also set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. We rated that as his best effort of the season, edging out his previous best set last Friday.
The victory (which was Sterling's fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1. Jaeger and Sterling will challenge Arvada at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Marcello Rossi Dazzles in Weld Central Win
Marcello Rossi's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his third-straight game with 126+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 219 yards and two touchdowns on only 15 carries.
Arvada's probably not too fond of Rossi given he always seems to get the better of them. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Rossi saw the Bulldogs), he rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 66 receiving yards.

Jacob Arzberger Turns in Season-Best Performance
Jacob Arzberger produced his most outstanding game to date while leading The Academy to the win on Saturday. Arzberger rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run.
The win got The Academy back to even at 3-3. Arzberger and The Academy will venture away from home to take on Weld Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Jace Cornelius Makes It Two for Weld Central
The second Weld Central player making an appearance here is Jace Cornelius, and for good reason. He threw for 129 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 passes, and also rushed for 79 yards and a touchdown.
This season, Cornelius has thrown those 3 touchdowns while averaging 56.4 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after five games last season, he had one rushing touchdown. This year he is already up to five.
