Volleyball Recap: Cardinal Mooney Comes Up Short

Cardinal Mooney lost against Ursuline back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cardinals came up short against the Fighting Irish, falling 3-0.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 25-11.

Cardinal Mooney's offense was headlined by Olivia Hetson and Kaelyn Radinsky, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Natalie Blasko and her 13 assists. Angela Bettura controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Leading Ursuline to victory were Jess Hass and Cadence Horvath. Hass had 13 digs and two aces, while Horvath had five digs and three aces. Horvath is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last five games she's played.

Cardinal Mooney has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Ursuline, they pushed their record up to 8-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home.

Cardinal Mooney wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Southeast on the 20th. As for Ursuline, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 win against David Anderson on the 22nd.
