Football Recap: Savannah Christian Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Savannah Christian won the last time they faced Swainsboro and Blaise Thomas did his part to make sure it happened again. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 45-19 margin over the Tigers on Friday for which the team can thank Thomas, who rushed for 128 yards and one touchdown on only 14 carries, and also threw for 262 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.8% of his passes. His longest rush was for an impressive 55 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Savannah Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Christian Beard and Weston Hughes. Beard has been hot, having also posted seven or more total tackles the last six times he's played.

Although Swainsboro took the loss, they still got scores from Marco Danford, Daveyhon Williams, and Shannon Benjamin.

The win was the third in a row for Savannah Christian, bringing their record up to 6-3. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 28 points. As for Swainsboro, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-2.

Coming up, Savannah Christian will take on Toombs County at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Raiders will need to watch out since the Bulldogs have now posted at least 31 points in their last three matchups. Swainsboro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
