Basketball Game Preview: Treynor Cardinals vs. AHSTW Vikings

Treynor and AHSTW are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2020, but not for long. The Treynor Cardinals will head out on the road to face off against the AHSTW Vikings on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Treynor comes in on 11 and AHSTW on five.

Treynor can't be too worried about heading out to take on AHSTW: they just beat St. Albert at home, who had been dominant on their own court up to that point. Everything went Treynor's way against St. Albert on Saturday as Treynor made off with a 75-50 win. The Cardinals have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matchups by 23 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, AHSTW made easy work of IKM/Manning on Friday and carried off a 68-46 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Vikings have posted against the Wolves since January 18, 2022.

Treynor pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.9 points. As for AHSTW, the win got them back to even at 9-9.

Treynor came out on top in a nail-biter against AHSTW when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 75-72. The rematch might be a little tougher for Treynor since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
