The McQueen Lancers were not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 74-38 loss at the hands of Reno. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points McQueen has scored all season.
McQueen's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Alex Hancock, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kade Snyder, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, McQueen smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. This was only their 13th loss (out of 21 games) when they hit their own glass that hard.
Aidan Casey continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Reno, going 9 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Casey has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Harvey Smerdon, who scored seven points along with 11 assists and seven steals.
McQueen's defeat dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Reno, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 20-5 record this season.
McQueen will play host again and welcome Carson, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Carson is coming into the matchup with eight straight defeats on the road, meaning McQueen will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory. As for Reno, they will be playing at home against Galena at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Reno's favor as the team sits on ten straight wins at home while Galena has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
