Basketball Recap: San Ysidro Takes a Loss

San Ysidro was the 71-59 winner over Coronado when they last played one another back in February of 2020, but their luck changed this time around. The San Ysidro Cougars were dealt a 77-23 loss at the hands of the Coronado Islanders on Tuesday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

San Ysidro lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Logan Songvilay, who posted five points. Another player making a difference was Osvaldo Hernandez, who had six points.

San Ysidro's record is now 2-14. As for Coronado, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 8-8.

San Ysidro has already played their next contest, a 78-45 defeat against El Capitan on the 8th. As for Coronado, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Point Loma at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Point Loma will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Coronado surely won't give up without a fight.
