Basketball Game Preview: Maiden Blue Devils vs. South Point Red Raiders

The Maiden Blue Devils will head out on the road to square off against the South Point Red Raiders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Maiden will be strutting in after a victory while South Point will be coming in after a loss.

On Monday, everything came up roses for Maiden against Piedmont Community Charter as the squad secured a 93-21 win. The Blue Devils pushed the score to 89-10 by the end of the third, a deficit the Patriots cut but never quite recovered from.

Ava Anderson was nothing short of spectacular: she shot 64% from the field to rack up 26 points along with five assists and five steals. Another player making a difference was Raegan Rembert, who went 5-for-10 on her way to 11 points and three steals.

Maiden smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, South Point had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They had to suffer through a 55-16 loss at the hands of A.C. Reynolds. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Red Raiders have suffered since December 10, 2024.
