Baseball Recap: Hesperia Takes a Loss

Hesperia extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-14. They came up short against the North Muskegon Norsemen, falling 12-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Norsemen this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 22-0 on Tuesday.

Hesperia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Evan Conkle, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

As for North Muskegon, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-8. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by seven runs or more this season.

On North Muskegon's side, the team relied heavily on Bronson Hurst, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Owen Silvis, who went 1-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hesperia will welcome Mason County Eastern at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Panthers will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. As for North Muskegon, they will take on Mona Shores at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Norsemen 2.6, the Sailors 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
