Soccer Game Preview: Kettle Moraine vs. Brookfield East

The Kettle Moraine Lasers will head out to challenge the Brookfield East Spartans at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Kettle Moraine's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

While Kettle Moraine's win against Waukesha West wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Lasers had just enough and edged out the Wolverines 3-2. Kettle Moraine haven't had any issues with Waukesha West recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Brookfield East came tearing into Thursday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 4.6 goals), and they left with even more momentum. Their defense stepped up to hand the Broncos a 2-0 shutout. Brookfield East's defense has been rock solid lately; the team hasn't given up a goal in their last six games.

Kettle Moraine pushed their record up to 6-7 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those road victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored ten goals over those three matchups. As for Brookfield East, their win bumped their record up to 10-1.

Kettle Moraine took their victory against Brookfield East in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Lasers since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
