Football Game Preview: North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights vs. Ravenscroft Ravens

The North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights will head out to challenge the Ravenscroft Ravens at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ravenscroft took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on North Raleigh Christian Academy, who comes in off a win.

North Raleigh Christian Academy will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up seven points last Friday, then bounced right back against South Wake on Friday. The Knights took their contest with ease, bagging a 45-0 win over the Lions. The Knights haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Davin McCoy had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 159 yards and three touchdowns. He has become a key player for North Raleigh Christian Academy: the team is 4-1 when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-3 otherwise.

North Raleigh Christian Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Brady Powell and Josiah Demorest. Demorest has been hot recently, having also posted five or more total tackles the last three times he's played. North Raleigh Christian Academy got some further help from Micah Finnicum: he forced one fumble, made ten total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended one pass.

Meanwhile, Ravenscroft played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 48-21 defeat at the hands of Harrells Christian Academy. The Ravens were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-7.

North Raleigh Christian Academy now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Ravenscroft, they dropped their record down to 3-6 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Everything came up roses for North Raleigh Christian Academy against Ravenscroft when the teams last played back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 41-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
