Recap: Parker Thundering Herd vs. Wenonah Dragons
If the Parker Thundering Herd were feeling good off their 54-30 takedown of the Fairfield Tigers on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Parker took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wenonah on Monday. Parker was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Wenonah apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played last Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wenonah to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jakerria Ringstaff, who scored 23 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Ringstaff is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Samarian Franklin, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
Parker's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Wenonah, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-4.
Parker will be playing in front of their home fans against Woodlawn at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Wenonah won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Hueytown at 6:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hueytown is out to stop a three-game streak of losses at home.
