Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Skutt Catholic). They blew past Elkhorn North 13-2 on Saturday. The win was nothing new for the SkyHawks as they're now sitting on six straight.

Skutt Catholic got a great performance from Bubba Day as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Jace Ziola was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Gage Guenther, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.

Skutt Catholic was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive matches.

Skutt Catholic's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Elkhorn North, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Skutt Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against Elkhorn North: the pair will be back at it again later today.
