Volleyball Recap: West Carrollton Pirates vs. Greenville Green Wave
West Carrollton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 13th straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the Greenville Green Wave. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Green Wave this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 last Tuesday.
The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-7, 25-14.
Greenville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Brubaker led the charge by getting four digs and three aces. The dominant performance also gave Brubaker a new career-high in assists (six). Kara Blumenstock also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
West Carrollton's loss dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Greenville, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. West Carrollton will face off against Xenia at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Greenville, they will challenge Piqua at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
