Football Recap: Bo Brandehoff and Kyndall Mccaleb Secure Win for Riverside

Riverside hadn't done well against Chardon recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Beavers came out on top against the Hilltoppers by a score of 38-26. The Beavers pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Hilltoppers cut but never quite recovered from.

Leading Riverside to victory were Kyndall McCaleb and Bo Brandehoff. McCaleb gained 262 total yards, while Brandehoff rushed for 79 yards on only six carries. McCaleb also rushed for 223 rushing yards, which is notable because the Beavers are undefeated when he posts at least 80 rushing yards, but 1-2 otherwise.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Riverside was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 315 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.

Riverside's record now sits at 4-2. As for Chardon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverside will welcome Mayfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Chardon, they will challenge North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Hilltoppers will be up against the Rangers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.17 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
