Basketball Game Preview: Cypress Park Tigers vs. Cypress Springs Panthers

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Cypress Park Tigers duke it out with the Cypress Springs Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday... The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Saturday, Cypress Park needed a bit of extra time to put away Langham Creek. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Lobos 53-50. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Lobos are ranked 475th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Cypress Springs had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They skirted past the Wildcats 38-36.

Cypress Springs has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 21-9 record this season. As for Cypress Park, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-11.

Cypress Park strolled past Cypress Springs when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 63-48. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cypress Park since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
