Baseball Game Preview: Morristown Yellow Jackets vs. Waldron Mohawks

For the second straight game, Morristown will face off against Waldron. The Yellow Jackets will head out to face off against the Mohawks at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.

Morristown proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They skirted past Waldron 4-3.

For Waldron's part, Jordan Bennett put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Bennett was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Waldron is 2-1 when Bennett posts three or more hits, but 3-11 otherwise.

In other batting news, J.D. Smith made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI. Jackson Kuhn was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one run.

Morristown is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Waldron, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
