Softball Recap: Smoky Valley Comes Up Short

Minneapolis hit Smoky Valley with a four-run fifth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vikings came up short against the Lions, falling 13-3.

Smoky Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Rylie Tolle, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Smoky Valley has also been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Minneapolis, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.

As of now, neither Smoky Valley nor the Lions have any future games scheduled.
