Baseball Recap: Carmel Christian Comes Up Short

Carmel Christian came into this matchup off a tough 12-run loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Charlotte S Stampede by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Cougars have struggled against the Stampede recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Carmel Christian got a good showing from Anderson Rider, who pitched 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.

On the hitting side, Carson Russell was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. That double marked the first that he hit this season.

Carmel Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Charlotte S, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-8.
