Top 50 high school football scores: Quinn Ewers throws for 450 yards, six touchdowns as No. 25 Southlake Carroll beats Euless Trinity

No. 7 Duncanville wins big over No. 21 DeSoto, Quinn Ewers and Southlake Carroll up next for Panthers in 6A Division 1 semifinals.

In just his second game back after returning from injury, quarterback Quinn Ewers of Southlake Carroll put on a show. The Ohio State commit completed 35 of 39 passes for 450 yards and six touchdowns in a 59-35 win over No. 26 Trinity (Euless) in the Texas 6A Division 1 quarterfinals.

Minnesota signee Brady Boyd finished the afternoon with 17 receptions for 261 yards and four scores. Up next for the Dragons in the semifinals is No. 7 Duncanville.

The Panthers doubled-up No. 21 DeSoto and cruised to a 56-28 win. Grayson James completed 22 of 28 passes for 471 yards and three touchdowns. SMU signee Roderick Daniels racked up 267 yards receiving and two scores. Duncanville has won nine games in a row since a 41-14 loss to No. 1 IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) and have outscored the opposition 465-103.  

On the other side of the bracket Dematrius Davis and No. 2 North Shore (Houston) won their 29th consecutive game with a dominant 56-14 victory over Ridge Point (Missouri City) to advance to the semifinals. The Mustangs are two wins away from winning their third consecutive state title.



Davis finished the afternoon with five total touchdowns giving him 58 (37 passing, 21 rushing) on the season. The Mustangs will take on No. 10 Westlake (Austin) after the defending 6A Division 2 champs rolled past Steele (Cibolo) 34-0.

In the Texas 5A Division 1 quarterfinals No. 9 Ryan (Denton) beat No. 24 Highland Park (Dallas) 17-7 to advance to the semifinals for the fifth consecutive season. It was the first win for the Raiders against the Scots since 2004.

Five-star Texas signee Ja'Tavion Sanders made one of the best catches of the year with a one-handed touchdown snag and finished the game with five receptions for 84 yards. Future Oklahoma Sooner Billy Bowman led Ryan with eight catches for 136 yards and a score.

No. 19 Cedar Hill did not take its first lead of the game until overtime when Tennessee signee Kaidon Salter connected with Javien Clemmer from 15 yards out for the walk-off score. The Longhorns won 27-24 and will face Eli Stowers and Guyer (Denton) in the 6A Division 2 semifinals on Jan. 9. 

In Georgia, No. 3 Grayson (Loganville) cruised to a 35-0 halftime lead against No. 34 Collins Hill (Suwanee) in the AAAAAAA championship. The Rams won 38-14 to bring home their third state title in school history and first since 2016. Miami signee Jake Garcia threw for two touchdowns in the win while Jayvian Allen stole the show rushing for three scores to go with an interception on defense. 

Five-star Travis Hunter hauled in 11 receptions for 100 yards and a score in defeat. He also recorded his eighth interception on the year.
