Basketball Recap: Bartow Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Bartow can now relate to. They took a blow against the Horizon Hawks on Thursday, falling 60-8. While losing is never fun, the Yellow Jackets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 534th, while the Hawks are ranked 97th).

Horizon found their leader in sophomore Emma Andrulouis, who went 6 of 10 en route to 14 points in addition to five boards and four steals. That's the most steals Andrulouis has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Anyah Unelus, who posted six points and ten rebounds.

Bartow is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-20. As for Horizon, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.

Bartow does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Horizon, they will challenge Lake Gibson on Saturday. Horizon is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 58.4 points per game this season.
