Scappoose has gone 9-1 against Tillamook recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Indians will face off against the Cheesemakers at 5:00 p.m. Scappoose is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11.4 runs per game this season.

Scappoose is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Oregon's top teams: St. Helens, who was ranked sixth at the time (Scappoose was ranked tenth). The Indians fell just short of the Lions by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Indians have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Sophia Bloyd made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Meanwhile, Tillamook was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They came up short against Astoria, falling 21-5.

Tillamook saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Dannielle Stockdale, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one run.

Scappoose's defeat dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Tillamook, their loss dropped their record down to 4-15.

Tillamook's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Scappoose has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Tillamook, though, as they've been averaging 10.3 hits. Given Scappoose's sizable advantage in that area, the Cheesemakers will need to find a way to close that gap.

Scappoose took their win against Tillamook when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 19-4 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
