Softball Preview: Scott Eagles vs. Campbell County Camels

Scott is 0-10 against Campbell County since May of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Eagles are taking a road trip to face off against the Camels at 5:30 p.m. Scott has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

On Wednesday, Scott didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop Brossart and fell 11-10. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ashlyn Riley led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Elise Manhardt, who scored two runs while going 3-for-4.

Meanwhile, Campbell County entered their tilt with Boone County on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Rebels 13-3. The Camels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Josie Feebeck was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Lilly Phirman also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Campbell County hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive games.

Scott now has a losing record of 6-7-1. As for Campbell County, their record is now 10-2.

Scott couldn't quite finish off Campbell County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 and fell 13-11. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
