Softball Game Preview: Lunenburg Central Chargers vs. Nottoway Cougars

The Lunenburg Central Chargers will square off against the Nottoway Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lunenburg Central is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.

Lunenburg Central's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They came out on top against Mecklenburg County by a score of 5-0.

Meanwhile, Nottoway came up short against Buckingham on Thursday and fell 7-2. The Cougars haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Lunenburg Central's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Nottoway, their loss dropped their record down to 12-7.

Lunenburg Central was able to grind out a solid victory over Nottoway when the teams last played back in April, winning 3-0. Do the Chargers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cougars turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
